Advance Ship Notices (ASNs) are electronic documents suppliers send to alert customers to a shipment and its contents.

In SupplyWEB, ASNs are typically generated from shippers, but may also be imported. When imported, a shipper file is generated and the ASN is automatically sent to the customer. This import enables suppliers to utilize SupplyWEB demand fulfillment, bar code printing, and other modules without abandoning an investment in other software.

If a shipment is cancelled after an ASN is sent, suppliers can then send a cancellation ASN to keep the customer informed. When an ASN is cancelled, the shipper from which it was generated remains.
